The much-awaited Milan Fashion Week 2021 was everything glitter and glamor. It took place between 21st-27th September 2021. Milan was all prepared for the fashion week, and more than hundreds of guests were invited to the event. 

Every year, approximately seventy designers and brands showcase their collections to the world, including brands like Prada, Versace, Emporio Armani, Fendi, Boss, etc. All of these brands create magic on stage and leave everyone mesmerized with their talent. Other than the runaway, Milan Fashion Week also hosts other events such as the CNMI Sustainable Fashion Awards, The World of Vogue Talent, etc. 

The Story Behind Milan Fashion Week

Milan Fashion Week is a semi-annual fashion week, which started in the year 1954. It is part of the “Big Four” fashion weeks worldwide, the other three of which are New York Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, and London Fashion Week. Milan Fashion Week is partially organized by Camera Nazionale Della Moda Italiana, also known as National Chamber for Italian Fashion. It is organized once in February or March for the autumn/winter collection and next in September or October, focusing on the summer/spring collection. 

Since its beginning, it has grabbed a lot of attention because of its unique style and the unforgettable experience it offers. The Milan Fashion Week 2021 was jam-packed with dinner parties, events, etc. 

Designers at the Milan Fashion Week 2021

Every year, more than eighty events are organized at Milan Fashion Week. Top designers from all across the globe participate in the event. After last year’s online fashion week, this year it was back with some extraordinary fashion and unique designs. The Fashion Week Milan 2021 was opened by the designer behind Fendi, Kim Jones. She displayed a disco-inspired collection including kaftans, leather dresses, slit coats, kaftans, waistcoats, etc. Models were all dolled up in Fendi’s exclusive collection. Fendi’s designs were vibrant and fresh. They were a blend of modern fashion with elegance. Other designers who were also part of the first day were Alberta Ferretti, Roberto Cavalli, N° 21, and Antonio Marras, who presented digitally. 

The second day of Milan Fashion Week 2021 witnessed some upcoming fashion designers. The runway saw the work of Emporio Armani, Boss, Blumarine, and exclusive digital shows by ATXV and Luisa Beccaria. 

On the third day of Fashion Week Milan 2021 brands such as Prada, Versace, Missoni, etc., walked on the ramp and left everyone awestruck. Many brands like Kiton, Zanini, Dolce and Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, Gucci, etc., showed their collections on the ramp. The collection presented by all the designers and their brand focuses on the summer and spring collections. The dresses were bright and fun to wear. Each of them had their own inspiration and ideologies they wanted to present. Everyone came coming up with their own unique style. 

Gigi Hadid was all over the headlines with her black gown, and indeed she’d never looked this stunning before. She was the showstopper for the Alberta Ferretti Spring-Summer 2021 collection showcased at Fashion Week Milan 2021. Her black gown had a halter neck and a detailed cut-out plunging neckline. Her hair looked beautiful in a loose ponytail. Her makeup was also kept simple to complement the dress. 

Editor-in-chief of Vogue Anna Wintour attended Roberto Cavalli’s fashion show. His collection included a range of short dresses in colors like black, yellow, golden, light green, white, etc. Jil Sanders, a fashion designer from Germany, came up with a never seen before collection. Her designs included long dresses, pantsuits, etc. 

Joy Meribe had fun with colors and prints in her summer and spring collection. She used colors like turquoise, purple, pastel greens, and neon in her designs. All her work was quite different from others. Her fashion sense won the hearts of many. Designer Nyny was seen with her collection that reflected the Black Lives Matter spring and summer collection. Italian rapper Ghali was the brand ambassador for the spring and summer and was seen voicing her opinions during the Benetton presentation. The CEO of Benetton Massimo was also seen during a press conference to show his designs. Many other designers also came forward and displayed their finest works and designs.

The Milan Fashion Week 2021 witnessed the highest level of fashion. Everything from the dresses to styles was unique, portraying their own sense of fashion. Designers from every inch of the world have been enthusiastic about this walk of fashion. The fashion week Milan 2021 was a gala event, and it turned out to be highly successful.
