Lil Nas X did not just attend the 2021 Met Gala. He killed it. The rapper came to the event in an oversized silk robe. It was nothing short of royalty and managed to grab many eyeballs. However, what did he do that made everyone compare him to Lady Gaga? Well, it was the multiple outfit changes he did on the red carpet.
As it was Lil Nas X’s first appearance at the event, the Lil Nas X Met Gala look was highly anticipated. Why? Because Lil Nas X is known for bringing an element of performance. Thus, even this year, people were highly anticipating his look for the Met Gala. But, this year, he took inspiration from Lady Gaga. As soon as he presented his outfit changes, people immediately picked up on it and compared it to what Lady Gaga did back in 2019 at the Met Gala.
Lil Nas X Met Gala Outfit
Taking everyone by surprise, Lil Nas X flaunted his style on the red carpet for the 2021 Met Gala. He wore three different outfits, and what made it special was that he changed them within a few seconds. Versace designed all his looks.
First off, he was wearing a regal robe. It was covered in intricate gold beading. The rapper’s robe had a long and flowing train. Upon ripping off his robe dramatically, he was wearing an armour suit underneath it. It had an in-built six-pack.
The armour suit gave off futuristic vibes. Further, the Versace signature embossed logo was present on his golden armour suit. To complete his look, Lil Nas X paired it with gold stud earrings and gold winged eyeliner.
Finally, the Call me by your name singer revealed his third and last outfit. It was a metallic bodycon suit. Lil Nas X stunned in it with crystals. It also had the signature house print of Versace.
The bodycon suit had a zippered front as well as a sparkly gold and black design base. This comfy outfit was complimented with a choker neckpiece that made it look more bedazzling. The outfit fit the Montero singer like a glove and was a perfect end to his outfit change.
Lady Gaga Did it First!
While everyone was raving about the Lil Nas X Met Gala look, the fact remains that Lady Gaga did it first. During the Met Gala 2019, Gaga wore four outfits to the event. Similar to Nas, they were one beneath the other.
She kept revealing each outfit in quick succession live at the event. Following her footsteps two years later, Lil Nas X pulled off the same thing with three outfits at the 2021 Met Gala.
Going the extra mile in 2019, Lady Gaga started her look by wearing an opulent Fuschia cape. After taking it off, she revealed a black ball gown. Underneath the black bowl gown, Gaga was wearing a slinky pink dress.
Finally, her last outfit was a set of underwear and tights along with an amusing pair of heels. So, people were comparing Lil Nas X with Lady Gaga as she is the blueprint that Nas followed.
